JAMMU, May 15: Distribution of ration and essential items among needy persons continued here today.
Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) distributed ration and masks among the poor and the needy at Govind Pura Chatha (Ward No-3 and 4 of Cantonment Board) in Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment. Around 100 families were provided ration kits and masks. Others who were present on the occasion were Nitish Mahajan, Bharat Bhushan, Ashu Gupta, Sanjeev Gupta, Rinku Gupta and Kuldeep Gupta.
Co-Founder of the voluntary social organization namely Live For Others-Being Helpful Vivek Parihar along with volunteers distributed ration kits among the needy families in Udhampur area. Dalip Anthal (Panch) Ward Number 4 Panchayat Garnai District Udhampur, Rakesh Singh and Deewakar Singh were also present on the occasion.
MD Bandey Memorial Society Poonch under the chairmanship of Er Saleem Bandey visited block Loran of Tehsil Mandi and distributed the dry ration to the poor persons mostly widows, orphans and handicapped of different villages. Sarpanch Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh, Panch Khadam Hussain, Molvi Javed Iqbal, Bashir Ahmed, Mohammad Rashid Malik, Manzoor Hussain, members of NGO namely Imran Shah, Tanvir Bandey, Asif Kirmani, Waseem Raja, Jagjit Singh, Sohail Kirmani and Shakil Ahmed were present on the occasion.
Gandhi Global Family J&K organized relief camp at Greater Kailash in Jammu. 25 local needy families mostly from Bhaderwah (Doda) and Punjab were identified by Ram Lal, local resident of Greater Kailash. The food packets of dry ration were distributed in presence of GGF President J&K Padmashri Dr S P Varma. Dr Prem Sharma, Prof H R Sharma, Dr GL Chaudhary, Jaswinder Singh Kuku, Adil Choudhary, Robin Gill, K K Arora and Ankush Varma distributed the relief material.
Jammu team of “We The Human” distributed free ration kits to twenty families at Munshi Chack near Camp Gole Gujral Jammu. The relief distribution was done by Ajab Singh Executive Member, Vishvajeet volunteer and police personnel from Pouni Chack Police Post. High quality reusable clothes facemasks were also distributed among members of these families.
Roop Nagar JDA Housing Colony Welfare Association under the chairmanship of Uttam Deep Sharma distributed dry ration and others items to 90 needy families residing in Roop Nagar JDA Housing Colony. NL Bhatt, BK Sharma, Ashok Gupta, JN Ralli, MC Gupta, SK Peer, Jatinder Kohli, KR Bagnathia, Sunil Dutt and many others were present on the occasion.
Secretary Indian Red Cross Society Jammu Region Vinod Malhotra along with his team today distributed ration and other food items among 70 migrant labourers belonging to Odisha, Bihar and UP presently living in Jhuggis at Nikki Colony, Sidhra.
