JAMMU, Apr 11: Amid outbreak of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the distribution of ration and essential items among the needy people continued on the 18th day of the lockdown.
187 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Commandant RB Gupta distributed essential food packets among needy people of villages of Kharoni, West Rathian and Phangyal of district Udhampur in presence of Sarpanches of respective villages and Civil Police.
Raipur Domana constituency Panchayat (Raipur A) Sarpanch Reeta devi distributed mask, sanitizer, ration and some food items with the help of social worker Joginder Seth, Mahant Rohit Shastri, Sunil Seth and Vinod Seth.
Surinder Singh Chairman of Satguru Nanak Mission Rehari Chungi distributed dry ration kit to poor and needy people. Monetary support was also given to widows along with dry ration kit.
JMC distributed rations in Ward 69 of Sainik Colony. Councillor Gurmeet Kour Randhawa with JMC organized door-to-door distribution of rations. Approximately 210 dry ration kits were distributed amongst the needy.
Trustees of Karamsheel Charitable Trust Jammu distributed relief material among needy persons living in Kargil Colony opposite Bahu Plaza, Channi Rama, Tawi Bank Colony and Channi Rama Talab areas of Jammu.
‘THE-SARA’ team led by its Director Dr Raminder Jit Singh and accompanied by Ranjit Singh Sambyal, SSP Security (VIP) Tech J&K distributed food items among families of migrant labourers living in Sainik Colony area of Jammu.
RSS Swayam Sevaks distributed relief material in the areas of Anand Nagar, Bohri, Talab Tillo, Trilokpur, Udheywala, Rajpura and Shakti Nagar areas.
Volunteer team of Educational, Environmental, Social Sports and Cultural Society Doda led by Chairman Mohammad Ayoub Zarger provided free ration kits to the 80 household in far-flung areas of Khaljugasser in Changa of Doda district. The ration was distributed at three locations namely Alni, Tipri and Seru. SDM Gandoh Dr Pretam Lal Thapa, Tehsildar Gandoh Arun Kumar Sharma, SHO Gandoh Arun Sharma, Serpanch Lal Hussain, Jai Paul and Bal Kishan Patania were among others present on the occasion.
500 bottles of hand sanitizers were donated by Dr Ishar Dass Vaid Memorial Trust Kishanpur Billawar to Additional Deputy Commissioner Billawar for protection of health personnel’s and security forces through Trustee Dr Narinder Vaid. The trust also donated 2500 face masks for the use of medical and security personnel.
Ashok Sharma, Naib Sarpanch Marheen distributed essential items among the needy persons in Gopala Chak area of District Kathua.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Samba Kalbushan Khajuria distributed foods among the labourer and needy families in Industrial area of Bari Brahmana in District Samba.
Rani Welfare Society Jammu under the supervision of its President Savita Parihar (Retd SSP) distributed ration items to more than 50 families of Panchayat Dhiari, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur. Swaran Singh Bandral Sarpanch, SDPO Ramnagar Garu Ram, Kamini Mahajan Vice President, Randhir Singh General Secretary, Kaveri Choudhary Treasurer and Narinder Kumar Member of Rani Welfare Society were also present on the occasion.
BJP KDD team distributed dry ration and medicines in Durga Nagar, Muthi, Janipur, Talab Tillo, Bohri, Barnai and Patoli Brahmana areas among migrant labourers and local needy families. District President TN Bhat, Bharat Bhushan Bhat, Shuban Pandit and Makhan Lal Vice Presidents, Vinod Pandita and Verender Sathu General Secretaries and many others were present on the occasion. The task of masks making and distribution is also being carried out under the supervision of Dolly Raina, Mahila Wing President.
Former Minister DK Manyal distributed ration among 34 sanitization workers during a programme at historic fort of District Samba. Municipal Council Chairman Pawan Kohli, BJP Samba Mandal President Mohinder Pal Bikka, Sanjeev padha and many others were present on the occasion.
Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Udhampur distributed ration among 2000 persons to Nodal Officer Community Kitchen Udhampur.
ICDS Thathri distributed fresh vegetables to 2000 beneficiaries under “Kitchen Garden Scheme” in around 150 Anganwadi Centres of Sub Division Thathri. CDPO Thathri Mohit Bharti and District Programme Officer Shahida Parveen shared the details of the distribution.
Jammu and Kashmir State Legal Services Authority (J&K SLSA) in association with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Red Cross, Police and local administration distributed 3500 masks, sanitizers, ration items, vegetables, fruits and medical kits to over more than 350 poor families in rural areas of Jammu district.
These essential items were distributed as part of a campaign launched by JKSLSA on the directions of Justice Rajesh Bindal, Executive Chairman of JKSLSA and under the guidance of MK Sharma, Member Secretary, JKSLSA.
Besides, Secretary DLSA Jammu, Naushad Ahmed Khan, under the aegis of J&K SLSA distributed fruits, portable drinking water, sanitizer packs and disinfectants among jawans of paramilitary and J&K police.
