Distribution of relief material, other essential items continues on 11th day of countrywide lockdown

JAMMU, Apr 4: The distribution of relief material and other essential items continued on the 11th day of the countrywide lockdown amid outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Former Minister and Ex-MLA Vijaypur Chander Parkash Ganga distributed food and essential commodities among Safai Karamcharis and daily wage earners residing in Bari Brahmana and Vijaypur areas. Ganga along with Romesh Kumar Sarpanch Jakh also distributed ration at Jakh among the labourers from UP, MP, Bihar and other States working in Vijaypur and adjoining areas.
Ex-MLC Vikram Randhawa along with Corporator Jyoti Devi, Sham Lal and Geeta distributed ration and essential items in Ward Number 53 Trikuta Nagar among the needy peoples.
General Secretary BJP J&K and Former Minister Dr DK Manyal along with Neena Gupta Corporator Ward Number 50 Channi Himmat, Advocate Ishant Gupta Co-Incharge IT and Social Media BJP J&K, Poonam Gupta Ward President BJP Mahilla Morcha, Kamlesh Magotra Ward General Secretary BJP Mahilla Morcha and Trishula Gupta social activists with the contribution of Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Sector 1 Channi Himmat distributed dry ration among all needy and daily worker families at Sector 5 and Sector 7 and 3 Channi Himmat.
President of NGO ‘Jiyo aur Jeene Do’ Tariq Shah along with members of the NGO provided food to needy families. Bansi Lal, Faisal Shah, Parveen Akhter, Rabia and many others were present on the occasion.
Station House Officer (SHO) Samba Inspector Suraj Pathania along with his team distributed ration and other essential items among seven slum dwellers families in Ward Number 9 Samba. Among others present wereDes Raj Sharma Chairman Baba Shivo Goran Committee, Kali Dass, Surinder Kumar and Raman Kumar.
Chairman Public Health and Sanitization Committee of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Baldev Singh Billawaria distributed ration among the needy at Gangyal. On the occasion, Ranjeet Singh, Om Pal, Kuldeep Gupta, Yash Rah and Jugal Kishore were also present.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Parihar along with volunteers of Indian Red Cross Society Unit Kishtwar distributed vegetables among the needy vulnerable families who are stranded due COVID-19 lockdown. Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society Unit Kishtwar Asgar Ali Sheikh was also present on the occasion.
BDC Chairman Surinder Kumar, Sarpanch Tilak Raj along with SDM Marh Tariq and Tehsildar Marh Surinder Singh distributed relief material to the labourers at Gajansoo of Marh in District Jammu. Sarpanch Ashwani Kumar was also present on the occasion.
To mitigate the sufferings of the poor and daily wagers, Cradle2Crayons Pre and Primary School, Lower Roop Nagar donated a sizeable quantity of cereals, soya, vegetables and other food items today.
Beopar Mandal Udhampur team distributed dry ration among needy persons of Shiv Nagar and Omara Morh. Vijay Kumar, Rahul Magotra, Jitendar Kumar, Kamal Gupta, Naveen Kumar, Ankit Sanson and Anil Vasandi were among others present on the occasion.
Union Church staff along with Bishop Dr Santosh Thomas in coordination with District Administration distributed food packets among needy families in Sui village at Ward Number 6.
Jammu team of We The Human Forum for Nature and Mankind in collaboration with J&K’s Sarveshwar Group started free distribution of raw items of ration to needy families in Jammu. Prem Singh, Sukhdev Singh and Ajab Singh distributed relief material among families in Bakshi Nagar and Belicharana areas, whereas relief items were also distributed in peripheral areas of Sainik Colony through Corporator Narender Singh and Rakesh Choudhary under supervision of KYS Manhas Chairman “We The Human”. KYS Manhas informed that relief activities have started simultaneously in Jammu, Udhampur, Srinagar and Budgam districts. Lalit Sharma Vice Chairman of the trust was also present on the occasion.
In order to help people, who mostly consist of stranded labourers, the District Administration Reasi has been providing free dry ration since March 27 from 61 distribution centres. Till date 1403 families and 4739 souls therein have benefited through the initiative. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajinder Sharma has been ordered that all such distribution be held under the observation of Sarpanchs and Panchs in rural areas.
RSS Organization distributed relief material among the people affected with ongoing lockdown in District Udhampur.
On the 11th day of the lockdown, the team of SET India distributed food items to 32 families in Kunjwani and also distributed fruits to kids under the supervision of ASI Satpal Sharma from Gangyal Police Station and other supporting staff. Mohalla President of Ward Number 55 Ramesh Singh Manhas and volunteers of the SET India namely Rita Kumari, Vijay Kumar, Naveen Sharma, Jadgish Kumar, Kuldeep and Anoop were also present. Rajesh Sharma Founder Trustee was also present on the occasion.
Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Vinod Malhotra, along with staff distributed ration and other food items among 450 poor and needy families of Panjtirthi, Radio Station, Channi Himmat and its adjoining areas. Besides this, germicide soaps and masks were also distributed among the labour class working at Sabzi Mandi and Fruit Mandi.
Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) continued distribution of dry ration kits to needy and down trodden persons living in the slum areas viz Poonch House, Talab Tillo and Christian Colony. The distribution of ration has been monitored by Commissioner, JMC Avny Lavasa alongwith Secretary.
J&K Youth Congress General Secretary Ricky Dalotra distributed home made masks among the people, while Sushil Bhagat District President Youth Congress Samba also distributed home made masks among the masses.
On the Direction of SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral, SDPO Surankote Javaid Tabassum, SHO Surankote Anil Sharma along with their team distributed food items among poor and needy people.
