KISHTWAR, July 13: The journey of Rising Kishtwar under the dynamic leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, has added another significant milestone with the inauguration of mega facilities i.e. “Kishtwar Haat” and “TRC-Kishtwar Resort”, promising a premium experience for tourists, pilgrims, and visitors right in the heart of Kishtwar town.
Dr. Devansh Yadav’s vision for Rising Kishtwar is evident in these two new facilities, which were inaugurated amidst much enthusiasm. “Kishtwar Haat” is the project of Municipal Council Kishtwar and executed by the PWD, R&B Kishtwar.
The Kishtwar Haat was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner and other guests present were ADC, Pawan Kotwal, Additional SSP, ACR, Idrees Lone, SDM Paddar Amit Kumar, Executive Officer Municipal Council Amit Choudhary, Executive Engineer PWD, Medical Superintendent DH Kishtwar besides others.
The event featured cultural performances, stalls showcasing local products, and interactive activities. The DC said that the “Kishtwar Haat” will be a hub for local artisans, farmers and entrepreneurs to display and sell their unique products, ranging from handmade crafts to organic produce. This initiative also aims to promote sustainable livelihoods, preserve traditional skills, and foster community development.
The “Kishtwar Haat” offers an array of local products like Kishtwari Kesar, Paddari Zeera, Millet, Pattu (woolen blankets), grass slippers of Nagseni, Rajmash from Marwah & Warwan, Desi potatoes, forest products, and medicinal plants like Gucchi and Chilgoza at one stop.
Meanwhile, an another facility the “Saz Valley Resort Kishtwar” at the outsourced TRC Kishtwar offers a 3-star experience, providing comfortable accommodation, delectable food, and entertainment options such as a nearby picture-time theatre.
Guests can also enjoy refreshing walks at the historical Chowgan Ground near the resort and take in the breathtaking views of the Kishtwar valley from the resort. The guests can visit the nearby Bun Astan Shrine and Shri Gori Shankar Temple Sarkoot situated on the other side of Chowgan Ground besides visiting other historical and religious places within the town.
