REASI, Mar 30: The District Development Commissioner of Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, spearheaded a crucial meeting at the DC office to finalize arrangements for the upcoming festivals of Baisakhi, Navratra and Eid-ul-Fitr. The meeting brought together representatives from key departments to ensure the seamless conduct of these celebrations.
In the meeting, discussions revolved around vital aspects including security measures, traffic management, sanitation, parking provisions, and the facilitation of basic amenities. Stressing the importance of meticulous planning, DDC emphasized the need for all arrangements to be in place well before the festivals commence.
Furthermore, the DDC underscored the necessity of uninterrupted services such as electricity and water supply throughout the festivities. Stringent directives were issued to monitor market rates and product quality, while ensuring adequate medical facilities and dedicated ambulance availability for emergencies. Additionally, measures were put in place to deter unauthorized use of domestic cylinders and address road maintenance concerns for smooth travel, especially to pilgrimage sites.
As part of enhancing security measures, the installation of CCTV cameras in vehicles and guest houses, along with strict regulations on roadside parking and prohibition of liquor entry in Katra, were emphasized.
ADC Kul Bhushan Khajuria, Addl. SP Iftikhar Ahmed, ACD Pardeep Kumar, SDM Mahore Mazahir Hussain Shah, AD Tourism, Xen PDD and PHE, Tehsildars, Secretary Holy Shrine Dera Baba Banda Bahadur Ji, representatives of Masjid Management Committee Reasi and other district officers were present.
