District Committee for Ladakh begins operations, invites public inputs

LEH, Oct 11: The newly formed District Committee for Ladakh, chaired by Pramod Kumar Jain, has officially commenced its operations.
The committee, which includes members Kacho Asfandyar Khan, Tsering Angchok, and Deputy Commissioners Shrikant Balasaheb Suse (Kargil) and Santosh Sukhadeve (Leh) as ex-officio members, has started touring various new districts in the region.
The committee has also set up its office at the Silk Route Guest House, near the Tourism Office in Leh, and is using the email ID chairman.ndc@ladakh.gov.in to facilitate communication with the public.
Residents and citizens of Ladakh are accordingly encouraged to submit their memoranda, suggestions, and viewpoints regarding the formation and operationalization of the new districts, namely Zanskar, Nubra, Sham, Drass, and Changthang.
The committee has already completed a 4-day tour of Zanskar and Kargil, where it met with several deputations and individuals, gathering representations that are currently under review.
