JAMMU, Feb 4: National Conference constituted District committees of the women wing of Kathua (Urban), Kathua (Rural A), Kathua (Rural B) and Udhampur (Rural) by conducting elections under the supervision of senior leaders and observers, here today.
Announcing the office bearers of these committees, Provincial president NC women wing, Satwant Kour Dogra hoped that the women functionaries will galvanise their respective units to reach out the people at the grass roots level in a big way.
Provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta, YNC Provincial president Ajaz Jan and Dogra greeted the newly elected office bearers on behalf of the Party president Dr Farooq Abdullah.
Neelam Sharma of Kathua was unanimously elected as District president Kathua (Urban), whereas Koushar Parveen Bhatti as secretary and Anita Sharma, Asha Rajput, Jagjeet Kour, Manjeet Kour, Pusha Rajput and Vishno Devi as vice presidents, besides NishaVerma as joint secretary and Neelam Sharma as Cashier, while Vijaya Sharma, Manjula Sharma, Surishta Rajput, Renu Sharma, Reetpal, GurdeepKaur, Lata Chowdhary, Anita Kumari, Arti Gupta, Ruchi Gupta, Archana Devi and Bindu Sharma were nominated as executive members.
Ashu Rajput was elected as District president Kathua (Rural A), whereas Shoba Devi as District secretary. Kanu Balotra, Krisnha Devi, Nek Biwi, Bala Devi, Surishta Devi and Reena Devi were elected as vice presidents and Bimla Devi, Shamim Akhtar, Samily and Pooja Devi were elected as joint secretaries.
Soma Devi was elected as District president of  Kathua Rural-B, whereas Rajni Devi as secretary and Gogi Rani, Shakuntla Devi and Jyoti Devi as vice presidents besides Puja Devi, Puro Devi and Sunita Devi as joint secretaries, Anjali Devi was nominated as cashier and Jyoti Devi, Guddo Devi and Shashi Sharma  were elected as executive members.
V D Surishta, Ex Sarpanch was elected as District president Udhampur (Rural),whereas Shakuntla Devi, Sarpanch of Ramnagar as secretary and Sushma Devi and Babli Devi have been nominated as vice presidents, besides Shanti Devi, Darshana Devi, Gytari Devi, Makhni Devi and Minakshi Devi were nominated as joint secretaries. Rita Devi was elected as cashier, while  Shakti Devi, Shakuntala Devi, Savitari Devi, Vidhya Devi, Vimla Devi (Panch) and Vimla Devi were nominated as executive members.
Dogra Expressed anguish over the acid attack on a 24 years old victim from Srinagar and called for societal response in a big way to stop such barbaric and inhuman acts against the women. She also expressed solidarity with Chairman DDC Kishtwar Pooja Thakur and expressed anguish over the casual approach of the Government in addressing the issue being projected by her and the other elected representatives.
Prominent leaders including Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Ex- MLC, Bimla Luthra Ex-MLA, Depinder Kaur Ex-MLC, Vijay Laxmi Dutta and many others were present during the event.
