JAMMU, Apr 26: The State Government has accorded sanction for constitution of District Coordination Committees for implementation and regular review of Joint HIV/TB Collaborative activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
The committees, headed by the concerned Deputy Commissioner, shall strengthen the coordination between RNTCP and NACP staff in the district, review the performance of all HIV/TB activities implemented in the District as per National framework and provide guidance for improvement.
It shall also address the issues related to human resources, including filing of vacancies, training of key programme staff and general health staff in HIV/TV activities, ensure that appropriate infection control measures are taken at all facilities providing HIV/TB/DR-TB care, promote participation of NGO/CBO and private practioners in implementation of TB-HIV activities and ensure safe injection practices in facilities providing healthy facilities to prevent HIV.
Concerned CMO will be Vice-Chairman of the committee, which shall be comprising of District TB Officer, Medical Superintendent of Medical College Hospital, Medical Superintendent of Hospital providing ART Services, Senior Medical Officer ART Centre, ICTC Counselor, GMC Jammu/Srinagar/concerned district, representative of NGOs working with RNTCP and NACP in the district as Members..
