JAMMU, Mar 21: The two day District Nodal Round of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament organised by MY Bharat NYKS in collaboration with GCW Parade concluded here today.
The valedictory function was graced by Sunaina Mehta, Principal Revenue Training Institute (RTI) Jammu and Ajay Sharma, SP Jammu South.
50 participants were called for the event on the first day while remaining 40 participated on the second day.
The jury members of the program were Prof Dr Jigar Mohd renowned Historian, Dr B B Anand Retd Principal Govt MAM College Jammu, Dr Muzammil Hussain Retd Principal GDC Reasi and Preeti Sharma leading young Women Entrepreneur, Adv Sunil Sharma, president, Bar Association Poonch and former Chairman Municipal Council Poonch.
The chief guest while expressing her appreciation for the event said that programs like these play an important role in connecting youth directly with governance process.
She further said that through Youth Parliament, youth can present their ideas for Viksit Bharat and important topics like One Nation One Election.
Ajay Sharma, while presenting his remarks noted that youth are the backbone of the nation and engaging youth in constructive work and nation building activities is of utmost importance.
He highlighted the role of events like Youth Parliament in connecting youth directly with policy making and presenting ideas to the Government and wished good luck to the winners for the next UT Level Round.
Participants delved deeply into the topic One Nation One Election – paving the way for Viksit Bharat and shared their thoughts and ideas.
Irtiqa Tariq secured first position in the event, while Arshdeep Kour and Manya Pandoh were adjudged the second and third position respectively.
A total of 10 toppers from the District Nodal Round will participate in the next UT level Round, while top three performers at the UT level will participate in the National Level Round.
The program was coordinated by the organising team chaired by Principal GCW Parade, Dr Ravinder K Tickoo, proceedings of the program were carried out by Dr Gurpreet Kour.
Nitin Hangloo presented formal vote of thanks.
Among others, who were present during the event included, Dr Nitan Sharma, Sushil Singh Charak, Pankaj Khajuria and Abheet Sangotra.
