District police holds seminar on domestic violence against women

JAMMU, Mar 25:   To create awareness regarding “Domestic Violence Against Women”, a seminar was organized at Channi Himmat by District Police, Jammu under Civic Action Programme, today.
The participants in the seminar were very appreciative of the initiative of J&K Police for prevention of this menance in our society and for the role of the Police Department in contributing for the overall development of the general public and youth in particular.
At the conclusion of the function, the momentos were presented to the panelist  by Sh. Udhey Bhaskar Billa, IPS SP Operation/South Jammu.
SP Hqrs Jammu, S Randheer Singh, conducted the proceedings of this seminar and deliberated in detail about the aims and objective of this seminar being organized by J&K Police under Civic Action Programme.
Rafiq Manhas, SDPO City East, Jammu presented the vote of thanks.
The CAP activities in this area are undertaken on the directions of Police Hqrs. J&K, ZPHQ, RPHQ under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu  Uttam Chand and under close supervision of   Udhey Bhaskar Bill, IPS, SP Hqrs Jammu S Randheer Singh, SDPO City East,  Rafiq Manhas and SHO P/S Channi Himmat, Inspr. Ajaz Ahmed Wani, SHO P/S Channi Himmat.
Prominent speaker on the occasion were  I D Soni Commissioner Scout and Guide J&K, Dr Usha Tickoo, senior vice president, Vichaar Kranti Manch, Advocate  Deepika Singh, chair person Voice for Right, Dr Gurmeet Singh, prominent social activists and educationalist,  Navdeep Kour, Director Indian Red Cross Society (IRC).
In the seminar, lots of public participated which includes Sarpanches, Panches, Prominent citizen, NGOs, Social Activists, Women Activists, Businessmen, Police Officers & people representing all strata of society.
