JAMMU, Jan 17: Amazon conducted an online test at DIT University for campus placements.
Post online test, 19 students were selected for further rounds. The students went through rigorous selection process (1 technical and 2 interviews) and finally Manthan Jamdagni and Nitin Pathak from Computer Science and Engineering (Cloud Computing) made it through the final selection process clearing all rounds and bagging a total annual package of Rs 25 lakhs. Both students have been selected at a designation of “Software Development Engineer” and will be reporting to Amazon officials for further joining formalities.
University Vice Chancellor, Dr KK Raina said, “We are happy to see the response of the companies at our campus placement program despite the current phase of economic slowdown. I am humbled by the confidence that top companies have reposed in us by choosing our students to augment their pool”. He said that more such drives will be conducted in the coming months in which students are likely to be offered jobs in the core companies.
Dr S Swaminathan, Pro Vice Chancellor, DIT University said, “Our graduates are equipped with diverse skills, and their transformational year at DIT has helped them to boost their capabilities and move along their chosen career paths”.
“University has been paying special attention to placements for students and workshops have been conducted to help them with the recruitment process. More than 100 companies are expected to visit the campus for recruitment this year and University placement coordinators hope to supersede this year’s highest package so far”, he added.
“DIT students are being placed in international companies of high repute because we try to prepare students beyond the structured curriculum by encouraging industry interface through guest lectures, industrial visits and project work”, said Prof Shishir Kumar, Director Academics and Administration, DIT University.
