JAMMU, May 19: With a view to review and monitor the progress achieved by the districts with regard to land acquisition, relief, appeal cases, administrative cases, administrative issues, redressal of public grievances redressal, Amarnath Yatra etc, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu chaired a high level meeting of Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division at Udhyog Bhawan today.
The meeting was attended by all the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division.
Threadbare deliberations were held regarding various issues including sanctioned strength, stay position and vacancy position of Girdawars, review of suspension cases of non gazetted officials of revenue subordinate department, collection of user fee at toll plaza Rajbagh Kathua, Rattle HEPP, progress report of NHAI/PMGSY, encroachment on National Highway, allotment of land for setting up of RSETI, SDRF cases, prevention of drug trafficking and its cultivation in Jammu division, Roshni cases, Amarnath yatra 2014, NPR (National Population Registrar), establishment of Red Cross bhavans in each district.
Regarding land acquisition issue for NHAI, Divisional Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners to expedite the process besides they were also asked to expedite the process of land compensation cases of various roads in their respective districts.
On the issue of encroachments on National Highways, Divisional Commissioner said that there is urgent need to check encroachments besides constructions should be allowed only after space for parking is earmarked by the constructing agency.
He also directed DCs to ensure that total ban on use of polythene carrybags is enforced strictly in their respective districts. Deputy Commissioners were also directed to ensure that complaints/grievances of the public are redressed at an earliest.
Underlining the need for motivating unemployed youth for availing the benefits of various Centrally sponsored self employment schemes, Shantmanu asked the DDCs to ensure that awareness is generated among youths by the concerned departments in all the districts so that youth become job providers rather than job seekers.
Regarding National Population Register, Divisional Commissioner asked the representatives of the Census Department to inform the district administration in advance regarding date and place of the camps to be organized in various districts so that people don’t face any inconvenience.
It is pertinent to mention here that National Population Register is a register of usual residents of the country and objectives of NPR is to create a comprehensive identity database of every usual resident in the country for which Divisional Commissioner urged the representatives of NPR to create massive awareness campaigns.
Earlier, a power point presentation regarding Bhatinda-Jammu-Srinagar Natural gas pipeline project was also presented by representatives of GSPL India GASNET Limited.
