JAMMU, Mar 24: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal today chaired a high level meeting to discuss issues pertaining to expansion of Jammu Airport.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, A.K. Sahu, Assistant Commissioner (C) Sachin Dev Singh besides senior officers of Army, Air Force and civil administration.
Threadbare discussions were held regarding expansion of Jammu Airport and issues impeding the expansion.
Underlining the need for early expansion of Jammu Airport, the Divisional Commissioner stressed that all agencies involved in the project should synchronize their working for timely completion of the prestigious project. Bottlenecks related to shifting of various utilities adjoining the airport were also deliberated upon besides transferring of land adjoining Airport which is presently housing several utilities of the Army and will be used for the expansion of the Airport.
Dr. Kotwal asked the Army, UEED, PWD and other concerned authorities to constitute a committee of officers for effective monitoring of implementation of this project in a stipulated time frame.
