Srinagar, Jan 4: To address some urgent issues at hand including functioning of ITMS Cameras, relocation of KPTCL Towers at Sanatnagar, Snow Clearance and rehabilitation cases, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Saturday chaired a meeting of concerned departments & officers, here.
While chairing the meeting, Div Com took serious note of software glitches in the functioning of ITMS which affects the seamless implementation of traffic regulations and directed concerned officer to urgently rectify the issue so the services will be effectively utilized by the Traffic Department.
Regarding relocation of KPTCL Towers at Sanatnagar for smooth movement of traffic over flyover, Div Com directed concerned to expedite the process of land acquisition under 3A National Highway Act for errection of new transmission towers.
In view of weather advisory for snowfall, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir directed operationalization of Divisional Control Room at ICCC to monitor & respond exigencies. He also directed related departments for the deployment of staff at the Control Room.
For the effective implementation of snow clearance plan, Div Com directed SMC, R&B, MED, ULB & PMGSY to maintain close coordination & synergy while ensuring snow clearance operation and restoration of road connectivity.
He urged them that they shouldn’t keep their snowclearance operation confined to respective demarcated jurisdictions only rather they should act judiciously & respond promptly to nearby areas to assist in opening of roads.
Div Com instructed CE, MED to coordinate with SMC for providing assistance in view of the priority of restoration of City roads.
Meanwhile the meeting discussed the bottlenecks and acquisition of structures falling in the alignment of road at Habakadal and rehabilitation thereof.
On the occasion, Div Com directed district administration to identify ten plots at the outskirts of the city for the rehabilitation purpose of households.
