JAMMU, Aug 10: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal today finalized arrangements for Budha Amarnath Yatra commencing from August 19.
IGP Jammu Danesh Rana, DIG Jammu Ashkoor Wani, DC Poonch Nissar Ahmed, DC Rajouri Depti Uppal, Director Tourism R. K. Varma, Chief Engineer R&B Alok Mengi, SE PHE Poonch, XEns, besides members of Shri Budha Amar Nath organization were present in the meeting.
Dr. Kotwal had detailed deliberation on various aspects of the Yatra for its smooth and successful conduct. All the officers were asked to ensure that arrangements relating to their respective departments are put in place well in time.
Arrangements like adequate supply of drinking water, cleanliness of the venue, construction of temporary sheds for community kitchens, ration, and LPG supply, security arrangements, and maintenance of road, medical facilities etc were deliberated upon in detail and the concerned officers were asked to ensure all these facilities well before commencement of the yatra.
It was informed that the flag off of the Yatra will be held on August 19 at 5 a.m. from Bhagwati Nagar and the formal inauguration will be conducted on August 18.
