Div Com for early restoration of Balole bridge

JAMMU, Aug 23:  To take stock of damage caused to motorable  Balole bridge in Samba district due to heavy downpour and discuss its early restoration, Divisional Commissioner  Jammu, Pradeep Gupta today convened a meeting of officers of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), R&B, Irrigation, GREF and other senior officers of concerned departments.
The meeting was also attended by DDC Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, DDC, Samba, Mubarak Singh, Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Tahseen Mustafa, Chief Engineer Irrigation, Ashwani Sharma and Chief Engineer Samparak.
Mr. Gupta informed that the bridge was constructed by GREF and is under the control of NHAI and this is one of the important bridges in the State. He asked the concerned to immediately take preventive measures in consultation with the experts to avoid further damage to the bridge. He asked the participants to keep their activities at maximum and remain vigilant for any alarming situation and immediately repair the same by implementing advanced mechanism for early restoration of traffic.
The meeting decided that till all the necessary repairs to the damaged bridge are not completed there will be no traffic movement on the bridge  and an alternate bridge adjacent to the damaged one is operational for regular and hassle free vehicular movement from Jammu to other States and vice versa.
He asked the DDC Samba to personally monitor the repair works and ensure that all repair works are done in a shortest possible time.
