JAMMU, Oct 26: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, today inaugurated the Jammu Deepawali Mahotsav 2023 at Apsara Road, Jammu.
As per a statement, the spectacular event was meticulously organised by the Directorate of Tourism, Jammu, in collaboration with the Apsara Road Traders Association, Jammu, Smart City Limited, J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages, and District Jammu Administration.
The event that commenced at 6 Pm cast a radiant glow over Apsara Road on the enchanting evening of October 26, it said.
The Jammu Deepawali Mahotsav presented a mesmerising spectacle with a breathtaking display of lights, captivating decorations, and enthralling cultural performances that encapsulated the rich heritage and unity of the community. Visitors enjoyed live music, traditional dances performances, and a bustling marketplace, the statement said.
Artists from the Department of Art, Culture, and Languages wowed the audience with cultural performances that brought to life the diverse traditions of Jammu.
The event also featured a remarkable exhibition of stalls showcasing the region’s handicrafts, providing a platform for local artisans to exhibit their skills and promote the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, expressed his heartfelt appreciation towards the organizers and participants for making the Jammu Deepawali Mohatsav a resounding success.
Rahul Yadav, CEO Smart City Jammu, praised the collaborative efforts of the organizers and emphasized the role of Deepawali in fostering community bonds.
Sachin Kumar Vaishya, DC Jammu, congratulated the organizers for their contribution to the cultural vibrancy of Jammu while as Sunaina Sharma Mehta highlighted the event’s significance in promoting tourism and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Jammu.
The event also unveiled an exciting series of events culminating on November 18th, featuring enchanting bumper prizes, delightful gifts, valuable vouchers, and exclusive shopping discounts for the general public.
