JAMMU, Oct 24: District Administration Jammu in an initiative to strengthen the service delivery mechanism today launched first of its kind Revenue Counseling Cell in the office of the Deputy Commissioner Jammu.
The Revenue Cell was inaugurated by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu here today.
The Cell has been set up to provide assistance to the service seekers about revenue related papers, sale and purchase of land, registration of sale deed, issuance of Fard, attestation of mutation or any other revenue related service.
People may seek assistance from Revenue Counseling Centre by personal visit to the Deputy Commissioner Office or contacting the centre incharge by making a call at 0191-2143922 and by sending an email at www.jammurcc@gmail.com. Initially, service has been made available from 9 am to 12 pm on every working day. Officers of the rank of the Assistant Commissioner along with Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildars have been deployed in the Revenue Counseling Centre to provide counseling to the people.
The Divisional Commissioner also inaugurated a Samadhan Kendra, a single contact point for addressing the public grievances effectively. An officer of the rank of Tehsildar has been made in charge in the cell and sufficient staff has been deployed to make it functional on 24X7 basis. Besides, short code has been obtained from BSNL for contacting the Samadhan Kendra by dialing a number 1077 on any day on 24X7 basis either by Landline or on mobile for registering his/her grievance. Any person can send his grievance pertaining to district administration Jammu through email to samadhanjammu@gmail.com.
Speaking on the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner exhorted upon the need of further strengthening of service delivery mechanism by use of latest technologies. He said that Revenue Department is closely associated with the people and it is vital that all stakeholders are kept well informed.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu A.K. Sahu gave a detailed resume of the programmes and schemes launched to provide better services to the people. He said that a strict monitoring is being kept on working of the district dispensation at all levels to ensure that people get all services in a total hassle free and transparent manner.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner inaugurated the newly renovated conference hall in the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
Meanwhile, Shantmanu launched a scheme Aapka School Aapke Gaon under BAPD for affected border villages within 0-5 km of the International Border/ALC to facilitate the students whose studies have been affected due to border firing.
Being introduced by the district administration, the programme envisages identification of suitable place in each village for accommodating students besides ensuring arrangement of proper lighting and seating arrangements preferably in available school buildings/community halls and Panchayat Ghars to provide additional classes to cope up with academic losses.
DDC Jammu A.K. Sahu informed that a special recruitment rally is being organized by Army at Sainik School Ground and NCC Camp Area Nagrota, Jammu in which the candidates of Jammu district will be participating on October 31, and November 1, 2014.
