Div Com issues directions for registration of tuition centres before Jan 31

SRINAGAR, Jan 12: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a meeting of officers to regulate and streamline the functioning of private tuition centres in Kashmir division.
Stressing on the registration of tuition centres, Divisional Commissioner directed all the private tuition centres functioning in Kashmir division to get registered with the Directorate of Education before January 31, 2013.
Threadbare discussions were held to regulate the private tuition centres and about the facilities to be made available to the students in these centres.
It was decided in the meeting that every private tuition centre should maintain an admission register indicating detailed particulars of the candidates and notify and display monthly tuition fee charged from students. Besides, it was also enjoined upon the representatives of private tuition centres that adequate accommodation and separate waiting room, toilet in addition to the separate drinking water facilities for female candidates in their tuition centres should be ensured within week’s time. They were also directed to ensure proper heating arrangements in the tuition centres immediately.
All Chief Education Officers were directed to submit the report about the availability of these facilities being made available in tuition centres to the concerned District Magistrates within 15 days and were also authorized to monitor their registration of respective districts.
It was also decided that the students of the tuition centres should be issued identity cards by the concerned tuition centres within 15 days.
To finalize the tuition fee structure in the tuition centres, a committee headed by Director School Education with Chief Education Officer, Srinagar and Additional District Magistrate, Srinagar besides representative of tuition centres as member was constituted.
It was also exhorted upon the representatives of tuition centres to maintain proper teacher-student ratio in their centres.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir directed the Director, School Education, Kashmir to submit the list of teachers of School Education Department carrying out tuition in the private tuition centres. He also directed Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar to work out parking slots on cluster basis in consultation with Superintendent of Police Traffic, Srinagar.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Director, School Education Kashmir, Mohammad Shafi Rather, Additional Advocate General, Shabir Naik, Principal, Amar Singh College, Dr. Mohammad Yaseen, Superintendent of Police Traffic, Srinagar, Haseeb-ur-Rehman, Superin-tendent of Police CID, Srinagar and representatives of private tuition centres.
