JAMMU, Oct 9: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal today visited various Government quarters at Company Bagh, B C Road, Amar Singh quarters , Poonch House and Sarwal Housing Colony and took stock of repair and renovation works.
While inspecting various repair works, he instructed the officers to ensure installation of dust bins, vent pipes, bush cutting, laying of tiles at open spaces and completing all the related works in advance before the Darbar move for the convenience of the move employees.
Divisional Commissioner also directed the concerned officers to ensure adequate water supply in these Government quarters. Stressing for completion of necessary repair and renovation works in time, Divisional Commissioner directed the Estates Department to ensure general cleanliness and sanitation in and around these areas.
To tackle the water scarcity problem, Divisional Commissioner instructed the officers of Estates Department to make provision for bore pumps after reviewing the feasibility in a phased manner and advised them to install heavy duty float valves to stop wastage of water. He further instructed that the department should properly map the unsafe buildings and evict them as soon as possible.
The officers of Estates Department apprised the Divisional Commissioner that the white wash of all the quarters has been completed along with repair of general amenities.
Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by ADC Jammu Piyush Singla, Chief Engineer PHE Rajeev Gandotra, Deputy Director Estates Satish Sharma, Executive Engineer Estate Rajesh Abrol, AEE PHE Rajesh Sharma and Ashwani Khajuria.
