JAMMU, Nov 1: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu today convened a meeting of senior officers to review the arrangements regarding visit of sub-committee on the action taken on 137th report of rehabilitation of J&K migrants of the department related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs to Jammu and Srinagar from November 5 to 7.
Secretary Revenue, Vinod Koul was also present in the meeting.
Preparations regarding the visit of Parliamentary Sub-Committee to Purkhoo and Muthi migrant camps on November 6 and interaction with migrants on November 7 were discussed in details. Divisional Commissioner deputed liaison officers with the sub-committee for the smooth conduct of their tour in Jammu.
It was decided that Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M) Jammu would be coordinating the meeting of Kashmiri Pandit migrants with the sub-committee while PRO Custodian General would coordinate in arranging meeting of West Pakistani Refugees, PoK Refugees, PoJK Refugees and Chhamb Refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971 with the Parliamentary Sub-Committee on November 7.
Later, a meeting of the Parliamentary Sub-Committee with the Chief Secretary would also be convened. The committee would be visiting transit camp Vessu Anantnag and interact with the migrants at Srinagar on November 5.
Various arrangements regarding comfortable stay of the sub-committee were also discussed.
Joint Director Information Jammu, Smita Sethi, Joint Director Hospitality and Protocol Jammu, Indu Kanwal Chib, Deputy Director, State Motor Garages Jammu, Z. H. Choudhary besides senior officers of other departments were present in the meeting.
