Div Com reviews land acquisition cases of NH

JAMMU, Jan 14: To review the district-wise status of land acquisition cases of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) pertaining to Jammu division and disbursement of compensation, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pradeep Gupta today convened unified video conferencing with District Development Commissioners of Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Doda, Rajouri, Reasi, Ramban, Kishtwar and Poonch districts.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Jammu, Chief General Manager, NHAI, DC Stamps, Rajesh Sharma, ADDC Jammu, Dr R.S. Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Settlement, besides other senior officers of concerned departments.
The meeting deliberated in length the physical and financial status of works under Special Task Force (STF) under Revenue Sector in respect of Jammu division.
Regarding land acquisition cases of NHAI and disbursement of compensation, Mr. Gupta was informed that the total land involved is 13713 kanals and 10 marlas, out of which 12309 kanals and 10 marlas land has been handed over to NHAI. Similarly, compensation to the tune of Rs 191.797 crore has been disbursed so far.
Mr. Gupta apprised that under identified STF (J) under revenue sector, Rs. 10 crore have been sanctioned to Poonch district for construction of New District Office Complex/Mini Secretariat.
Reviewing Revenue sector in Udhampur, the Div Com informed the meeting that for establishment of Disaster Management Complex with Helibase at Birmon, Udhampur, Planning department has released an amount of Rs. 5 crore.
For construction of mini secretariat at Rajouri, Rs. five crore was released during last year and the same amount was released during the current financial year. He called on the concerned authorities to expedite the process for early completion of this vital project.
About SDRF claims, the Divisional Commissioner said that in March and August 2012, two claims which occurred due to wind storm and heavy rains have been cleared by the administration. He said that the funds would be issued for temporary restoration of damaged infrastructure occurred by any natural calaminity.
Regarding special summary revision of Electoral Rolls, the Divisional Commissioner asked the DDCs to conduct a statistical analysis and send a revised list of accurate data of the electoral roll as the final date for publication of Electoral Rolls is 21st January, 2013. Process for finalization of Stamp Duty Rates for the year 2013-14 was also discussed.
He also discussed arrangements for Civil Military Liaison Conference which would be chaired by Chief Minister after Republic Day. He asked the DDCs to send their agenda which should be precise.
