JAMMU, Mar 6: To streamline the traffic flow in Jammu city and ensure better vehicular movement on the roads a high level meeting was convened by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu here today.
Various issues which were discussed during the meeting include, removal of encroachments along roadsides and footpaths, marking of zebra crossing near all working traffic lights, construction of dividers on different roads, etc.
Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned departments to take all measures to clear the city roads of all encroachments for smooth flow of traffic and reduce the frequency of traffic jams.
Earlier, DIG Traffic apprised the meeting about various issues causing traffic congestion in Jammu city.
The meeting was attended by Inspector General of Police Traffic Munir Ahmad Khan, DIG Traffic Jammu Ashkoor Wani, DIG Jammu Shakeel Beig, Vice Chairman JDA Mubarak Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu Kalyan Singh, RTO Jammu Ashwani Kumar Khajuria besides others.
