JAMMU, Nov 25: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu and State Secretary IRCS, Roma Wani, today interacted with Jammu University Vice -Chancellor Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar after inaugurating a photo exhibition at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium in the university.
Admiring Red Cross’ for their work in delivering humanitarian aid to those in need, particularly in conflict zones, Prof Ishar said that Red Cross always comes to protect the needy.
Roma Wani, State Secretary IRCSA, briefed VC about the photo exhibition tracing back the work of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for the past 150 years. “The critical work of the ICRC for the past 150 years was to deliver humanitarian assistance to victims of conflict all around the world but also to adapt to the changing nature of war” said Marek Resich, spokesperson for the ICRC. He added that the exhibition shows this evolution in a very comprehensive way and that the institution will continue to adapt itself to new challenges.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.
