Div Com for tightening noose around encroachers

SRINAGAR, Jan 5: Emphasizing on re-energizing of administration to tighten noose against encroachers, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Rohit Kansal called for gearing up of administrative machinery at all levels to speed up the post flood rehabilitation works in Kashmir Division at a high level meeting  here today.
The meeting was attended by all Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners of Revenue Department besides other divisional level officers.
Divisional Commissioner enjoined upon the officers to ensure speedy rehabilitation of all flood affected families. He directed the concerned officers to ensure immediate removal of all types of encroachments on the banks of river Jehlum and encroachments on other tributaries in various districts.
He directed Deputy Commissioners to bring efficiency and transparency in the administrative apparatus to improve the service delivery mechanism .
The meeting was informed that most of the residential sheds have been completed and handed over to the flood affected families in Valley.
Reviewing the removal of encroachments and trees from the banks of river Jehlum and other rivers, the Divisional Commissioner was informed that 41 structures and tin sheds have been dismantled in Srinagar city.
He directed the officers to constitute checking squads for ensuring judicious use of electricity and curbing black marketing, profiteering and hoarding of essential commodities.
