The divine boon

Sir,
The graph of population is registering sharp increase in our country on a constant basis despite slew of measures, awareness campaigns and programmes launched by the Govt. The issue assumes greater significance when viewed from the perspective of alarming sex wise census reports splashing in the media presenting statistics of fast dwindling ratio of Girl child vis-a-vis Male child in different segments of Indian polity. When we attentively brood over the nuances of the brewing Imbalance and conduct in depth study we find that Indian society is still shackled in mediaeval belief system that male child is indispensable in the family for carrying forward the dynastic lineage, is reliable mainstay of family in hard times and old age, is reckoned to be an asset, a symbol of male chauvinism.
Conversely out of sheer folly Girl child is considered to be a lifelong liability, investment with diminishing returns, unending accountability and epitome of fragility of family honour. However these can be dismissed as bitter offshoots of obsolete misconceptions of age old male dominated society. Deep insight into the matter reveals that such abominable conventions endorsed by vested interests gave rise to a galaxy of retrograde practices in the garb of gender bias in terms of practice of dowry, educational disparity, cconomic insecurity, honour killing, suppression of talent of fair sex. having said that we happen to perceive a glimpse of incredible wisdom dawning on the progressive India where in the incumbent Govt has launched ‘Beti Bachao Beti  Padao’ campaign on 22.01.2015 for awareness and nailing the gender bias lock stock and barrel.
This would certainly bear fruit and prove to be a master stroke for damage control by purging the mental blocks of the society.
Yours etc….
