SRINAGAR, June 27: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil has said that the newly elected Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti must fully devote herself towards eradicating unemployment, bringing sustainable peace and redressing the miseries of the common masses of the State.
In a press statement here today, Vakil said that Ms Mufti must force Central Government to shun tricky methods and frame a tangible Kashmir policy so that existing ground situation could be improved in J&K.
Mr Vakil said it is due to divisive and wrong politics propagated by BJP and its allies which has cropped up and given boost to divisive elements and urged Chief Minister to prevail upon BJP not to rack up the controversial issues because in multi- religious country’s strengthening and existences embodied in secularism only.
Former Minister again urged the Chief Minister to relook into the contentious agenda like establishment of separate Pandit and Sainik Colonies so that imminent threat to peace and tranquility could be prevented. He said that fuelling confrontation with Hurriyat is not advisable because it has a direct impact upon trade, tourism and peace in the State and at the end nothing will be achieved by the Government.
Senior leader also expressed concern over shortage of essential ration items in the State. He said CAPD has pushed the poor people to starvation in this holy month of Ramzan. He also impressed upon the Chief Minister to personally look into the issue of shortage of essential rations items especially sugar and rice and take immediate steps in this regard so that people can celebrated Eid happily.
