R.S Pura, Dec 12: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Saturday said that BJP has promised to the people of J&K that they have plans for changing their fortunes but unfortunately after more than six years of BJP in Government nothing has been done to address the key issues of Jammu region.
Bhalla was addressing a public gathering while campaigning in favour of Congress candidate Romesh Motton at Panchayat Kotli Arjun Singh in R.S Pura.
He said that people needed a Government that could deliver services, boost the economy and support agriculture.
“The truth is that the BJP Government has miserably failed to take necessary steps to address these key issues due to its wrong policies,” the Congress leader claimed adding that Congress is committed to resolve the issues confronting people and to fight against discrimination.
He cautioned BJP against whipping up passions on communal lines and said that divisive politics is dangerous for the diverse Jammu and Kashmir, which is known for its inclusive character the world over.
Bhalla also said that BJP stands exposed for its anti-poor and anti-youth policies and these are the segments which are going to punish the party in the ongoing DDC elections for ditching Jammu’s interest.
“The developmental tempo initiated and sustained by Congress Government during six years has come to a grinding halt and all tall claims and promises delivered before and after formation of the government by BJP proved hoax,” he further said lamenting that unemployment and inflation in Jammu and Kashmir is all time high, financial health of the people is not good while the present pandemic has snatched away the source of livelihood from billions.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Ex Minister, Garu Ram Choudhary, PCC Secretary, Pawan Raina, Sr. Vice President Distt Rural, Ravinder Singh, Mohan Singh, Jagjeet Singh Jagga, Sarpanch Hazara Singh, Block Presidents-Sham Mehara and Kuldeep Raj, Doulat Ram, Balbir Singh, Satpal Mandi, Barkat Singh, Ajit Singh, Jang Bahadur, Prithi Singh, Ch.
