DJSES organizes award ceremony of rank holders

JAMMU, Oct 31: Diocese of Jammu – Srinagar Education Society (DJSES) organized an Award Ceremony of Rank Holders  of J&K Board Exams and CBSE in April – 2015 in Fatima Convent School,  Bishnah, here today.
Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture,  was the chief guest,  Dr  Kamal Arora MLA, Bishnah constituency and Bishop Ivan Pereira, president of Education Society  presided over the function.
DJSES awarded 145 position holders with cash and memento. Meritorious students and their parents were felicitated with an objective to honour them and boost their self-confidence and thus promote education in rural and urban areas of the State, said Bishop Ivan Pereira.
Priya Sethi, in her message, said that education should aim to make the society more human and thereby children should learn the human values to make them as worthy citizens of India.  She further insisted to provide skill based training in schools to cope up with the modern trends of the society and further requested the president of the Society to adopt a few Government Schools in providing quality education.
Ms Sethi also  emphasized on women education and religious tolerance as key elements of reforms to be introduced in  education.
Bishop Ivan Pereira exhorted  to the achievers to work hard for achieving  new heights of glory in future. He also thanked the organizers of the event Fr  Anthoy Peppin, Fr  S  Joseph, Fr  Dominic T, Fr  Aswin Leo, Sr  Suzette AC  Sr  Sonia SND and Fr  T  S  Jacob.
Diocese of Jammu – Srinagar Education Society (DJSES) runs 25 schools at different places in the State starting from Kathua to Baramulla. Students from various unit-school of DJSES staged colourful performances on the occasion.
The function was well-attended by local dignitaries, principals, managers, teachers, parents and students from various places.
