KATHUA, Dec 19: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee on Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) here in the DC office.
The Committee examined six proposals including five for trout fish Unit and one for Carp Fish Unit under PMMSY plan for the year 2022-23.
After detailed discussion, the Panel approved all six proposals subject to the availability of funds and necessary sanction from the competent authority.
While deliberating upon the need to encourage the farmers to adopt mix farming, the DC called upon the member departments to extend adequate handholding to them to create multiple avenues of generating income through departmental schemes of Agriculture, Rural Development, Banks, KVK etc.
Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) is a scheme aimed at harnessing the potential of the fisheries sector in a sustainable manner so as to double the income of Farmers in line with the Prime Minister’s vision.
Among others, those present in the meeting were SE Hydraulics, CPO, ACD, CAO, Representative of KVK, AD Fisheries, District Manager Lead Bank, and other concerned.
