DLSA constitutes core groups for border firing victims

POONCH, Nov 6: In compliance  to  the directions of Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Mohd Yakoob Mir,  Principal  District and Sessions Judge Poonch and  Chairman District Legal Services Authority  DLSA, Tahir Khurshid Raina  has constituted two core groups for coordinating with the district administration in providing assistance to the victims of border firing and shelling.
One core group has been constituted for Mendhar, Balakote and Mankote areas which will be headed by Munsif Magistrate Mendhar. For Havaeli and Mandi, the core group will be headed by Chief Judicial Magistrate Poonch.
The core groups will ensure immediate help of Government and Non-Governmental Organizations to the victims, supervise and ensure proper distribution of relief material to victims, construction of temporary shelters, reunion of families, health and care of the victims and prevention of spread of epidemic amongst inhabitants of the affected areas.
Moreover, the core groups will ensure availability of food, medicines and drinking water to victims and supervise the construction of damaged dwelling houses. They will also ensure educational facilities to the children of affected families.
The group will open legal aid clinics in the areas and para legal volunteers and retainer lawyers will be associated in these endeavors. The Judicial Magistrates heading the core groups have also been directed to submit status report within three days about the work done so far by the district administration in this regard before the Chairman DLSA.
