DLSA Kathua observes National Legal Services Day

KATHUA, Nov 9: District Legal Services Authority Kathua, under the Chairmanship of its Chairman, Jatinder Singh Jamwal, celebrated National Legal Services Day, here today.
The program was attended by the Additional District and Sessions Judge Pravin Pandoh; Chief Judicial Magistrate Munish Kumar Manhas; Sub-Judge/Special Mobile Magistrate Amandeep Kour and District Mobile Magistrate/JMIC Neena Thakur.
The programme was organised by Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Kamiya Singh Andotra under the supervision and guidance of the DLSA Chairman, in collaboration with District Administration Kathua.
On the occasion, Departments of ICDS, Education, Health, AYUSH, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Co-operatives, Handicraft/ Handlooms, Employment, Social Welfare, J&K Bank, Khadi (KVIB and KVIC), NRLM, Labour department showcased respective schemes by displaying pamphlets, brochures and other exhibits.
Bar members, officers/officials of various departments and PLVs also participated.
Chairman District Legal Services Authority educated the congregation about the importance of the day and obligation on part of the judiciary to provide justice in all domains viz social, economic and political. He also stressed upon the utility of various Welfare Schemes for the public and stressed upon creating awareness among the general public.
Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Kathua Kamiya Singh Andotra, in her speech, stated that the justice should be done not only in court premises but justice should be ensured in all spheres of life while quoting a phrase “Let Justice be done though the heavens fall.” She also informed the gathering that free legal aid is available to the weaker sections of the Society in any matter before civil, criminal or any other forum and can be availed for pending cases as well as the cases at Pre-litigation.
