BHADERWAH, Feb 10: A Legal Awareness Programme on “Cyber Crimes” was organised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bhaderwah in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police today.
The programme was organised to aware and educate the representatives of different sections of society regarding the said topic and their legal rights and duties.
Legal experts from the District Court, senior police officers and cyber experts from Bhaderwah Campus provided awareness to the participants regarding various types of cyber crimes, their repercussions and about Right to Information.
Secretary DLSA Sushil Singh was the chief guest, while SDPO Meer Gafoor presided over the function and Dr Atif Qazi lecturer Business School Bhaderwah Campus was the special invitee. Advocate Mohammad Majid Malik conducted the proceedings.
On the occasion, Secretary DLSA Sushil Singh, while addressing the gathering said that they should refrain from indulging in any kind of cyber crime intentionally or unintentionally and should remain aware about their legal rights and duties.
“Cyber Crimes Act provides a practical roadmap for curbing different forms of online and internet frauds. It is very important to remain aware and alert against cybercrime in today’s world”, Singh added.
“In today’s world, cyber terrorism is the biggest threat to the society and to control this ever increasing menace, one should invest their time in play their active role in building a cyber crime free society”, said Atif Qazi, Lecturer Business School Bhaderwah Campus.
He suggested that in today’s world of globalisation, everyone to remain updated about all kinds of developments around the globe and use the tool in constructive way and act in a positive manner. He also said that regular legal awareness programmes would be organised in future.
