BARAMULLA, Sept 3: The District Magistrate (DM) Baramulla today chaired 14th District Level Narco Coordination (NCORD) Committee meeting to discuss the strategies aimed at combating drug abuse in the district.
The primary objective of the meeting was to strengthen inter-departmental coordination and implement effective measures to curb the drug menace.
During the meeting, the DM stressed the need for a collaborative approach to tackle the issue, with an emphasis on youth engagement.
Additionally, the DM directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and AD Drug Controller to ensure that all pharmacies in the district adopt computerized billing systems to improve transparency and compliance with drug-related regulations.
The DM also directed the Chief Medical Officer to ensure the operational status of the drug de-addiction center at Sopore. He emphasized the need for the center to be fully functional and accessible, providing critical services to those, battling substance abuse in the region.
To spread public awareness, the ARTO was tasked with placing stickers on all commercial vehicles, promoting the message of drug prevention and raising awareness among the general public.
