DM imposes prohibitory orders at project sites

KISHTWAR, Apr 25: District Magistrate Angrez Singh Rana has imposed prohibitory orders at project sites.
As per official spokesman, on the basis of series of complaints received from Project authorities with regard to serious law and order problem created by some miscreants at project sites thereby causing hindrance in the smooth execution of works, District Magistrate Angrez Singh Rana issued strict prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC.
The order issued by DM reads that, “Whereas, construction of Pakal Dul Hydro Electric Project has been allotted to M/s AFCON Jal Joint Venture and M/s JP Associate Ltd. by the concerned CVPP authorities”.
There are frequent complaints from the Executing Agencies that some miscreants are misleading and instigating the concerned youth, zamindars and public of the area to get ready for agitation and hartals against the management of the Project and have created hindrances in construction work of the power projects at several places.
The management of the Project has reported that some local youth and locals have created sense of insecurity and fear in minds of management and have vitiated the peaceful environment in the area, as a result of which the construction work of the Power Project has been withheld.
For smooth construction of Power Project which is of national importance, maintenance of peace, tranquility and law and order at construction sites–residential quarters of AFCONS at Pakal Dul Power House sites including official sites of AFCONS, Tamruchi, Arzi and Tanji and also Power Project sites in Dangdooru and Sourbatti area in Dachhan, prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC imposed by DM Kishtwar regarding assembly of five or more persons at above-mentioned places and locations is strictly prohibited including carrying of weapons and other items (dandas/lathies).
