SAMBA, Oct 14: District Magistrate (DM) Samba, R K Varma in exercise of powers conferred upon him under Section 8 of J&K Public Safety Act , 1978 has imposed PSA on Rakesh Singh alias Villa, son of Ranbir Singh of Village Rahya, tehsil and district Samba.
Under the Act, DM ordered to detain Singh for a maximum period in the district jail.
DM imposed PSA on Singh on the basis of dossiers prepared by Police and issued orders for his detention to prevent him to act in any manner prejudicial and detrimental to the maintenance of tranquility and public order.
Vijaypur Police said Rakesh Singh early this month had opened fire on a local road in his native village to eliminate some one. He was arrested by the Police and weapon of offence was seized from his possession. A case under Section 307 was registered against him in PS Vijaypur.
