Official sources said that in the recent past the District Magistrate received numerous reports that garbage was being dumped on left side of Katra-Reasi road hardly 200 meters away from Asia Chowk Katra by various organizations, agencies and private persons.
She also came to know that due to dumping of garbage the width of the road has deceased considerably thereby leading to frequent traffic congestion and there were apprehensions of road accidents at this particular spot. Moreover, this practice was also found to be posing serious threat of epidemic like situation and leading to pollution of Banganga which flows downside the road.
