JAMMU, May 11: District Magistrate, Sachin Kumar Vaishya has issued public notice regarding the initiation of proceedings under Section 82 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Cr.PC) as specified in Section 12 of the Public Safety Act (PSA).

Senior Superintendent of Police has informed that Gulzar Ahmad alias Lahu, son of Bashir Ahmad, against whom a detention order has been issued under the PSA vide no. PSA 20 of 2022 dated 24.11.2022, is currently evading arrest. It has been established that Gulzar Ahmad is absconding to avoid execution of the said detention order.
In accordance with Section 12 of the PSA, Gulzar Ahmad has been directed to present himself before the office of the District Magistrate within 30 days. Failure to comply with this directive will result in appropriate action under section 12(b) of the PSA, which may include imprisonment for a term extending to one year, a fine, or both.
Similarly, proceedings under the same sections have been initiated against Mukesh Kumar alias Gesha, son of Dillawar Kumar, who is also evading arrest following the issuance of a detention order under the PSA vide no. PSA 19 of 2023 dated 01.10.2023.
Likewise, Mukesh Kumar is directed to appear before the office of the District Magistrate within the stipulated 30-day period. Non-compliance will invoke the prescribed penalties under section 12(b) of the PSA.
