LEH, Sept 15: District Magi-strate (DM) Avny Lavasa today issued an order restricting social media administrators from sharing irresponsible messages which can hurt religious sentiments.
The order reads that Government employees serving in the district are directed to refrain from making any comments/remarks or associating with activities that may cause communal tension. Any violation of the instruction will lead to strict action under relevant provisions of the information Technology Act and RPC and any other relevant provisions of law.
Earlier in the day, the DM called a meeting with religious heads to ease the ongoing communal tension in the Ladakh region. The meeting was attended by Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA), Anjuman Moin-Ul-Islam, Anjuman Imamiya, Christian Association, Hindu Trust Mahasabha and Sikh Committee Members.
In the meeting all religious head condemned the recent conversion case. LBA reportedly asked for high level committee to study in detail about the all the conversion cases in the past. It was also decided that LBA delegation will meet Minority Commission to appraise about discrimination with the minority of Buddhist in the State.
LBA also urged that parent or relatives of Stanzin Saldon who converted to Muslim must be allowed to speak to the girl. To avoid further conversion, LBA appeals to make special law in the State assembly and all religious heads reportedly support the demands.
