NEW DELHI, Dec 2: Union Minister in PMO with independent charge of Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that resumption of DMU train service from Pathankot to Udhampur with immediate effect within 24 hours is yet another reiteration of PM and high prioritization of Jammu and Kashmir
In a tweet the Minister said “In response to a representation made yesterday by #Udhampur West MLA Pawan Gupta on behalf of the local public which was followed by another similar representation by #Udhampur East MLA R.S Pathania and phone call from MLA #Chenani B.S Mankotia, the matter was taken up by me with the Railway Board and Railway Ministry. I am thankful for the prompt response within 24 hours in restoring the DMU train service with immediate effect. This is yet another reiteration of PM @ Narendra Modi’s commitment for Jammu and Kashmir’’.

Earlier in their letters MLAs Pawan Kumar Gupta and R S Pathnia representing Udhampur West and East constituencies respectively have shown their concern over suspension of DMU service putting people especially daily commuters to lot of inconvenice. They sought immediate intervention of Dr Jitendra Singh in getting the DMU service resumed so that the people especially daily commuters don’t have to suffer any more.
