DNT warns action against trespassers, defaulters

JAMMU, Nov 17: The trustees of Durga Nag Trust (DNT) and Governing Board members who met here, today under the chairmanship of Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor of Central University Jammu and member of the Governing Board of the Trust decided to take stern action against the trespassers and defaulters who have failed to comply with the lease deeds from time to time.
Taking stock of the functioning of the Trust at Durga Nag Srinagar and Barnai Jammu, the meeting expressed satisfaction over the measures taken by the Trust led by former Chief Secretary and MLC, Vijay Bakaya in restoring its properties in Srinagar where some trespassers had forcibly occupied the rooms and also damaged the property.
Giving account of the functioning of the Trust to both trustees and Governing Board members, Bakaya expressed his dismay over the non seriousness on part of some disgruntled elements who failed to restore the land purchased by Trust at Barnai even after making full payment to the land owner. He said all measures have been taken to make the working of the Trust transparent so that community’s trust is reposed in it and its pristine glory is not only restored but to ensure that it should serve the same purpose for which it has been founded by the founder trustees.
Prof Ashok Aima also stressed that stringent measures be taken to restore the pristine glory of the Trust besides taking action against all trespassers and defaulters.
The meeting also constituted a three member Committee comprising of Prof B L Zutshi, Kuldeep Raina and Avatar K Bhat to make the functioning of the Trust more better in Srinagar and starting of community kitchen for the pilgrims there.
The prominent Governing Board members and trustees who attended the meeting included Dr Sushil Razdan a renowned Neurologist, Prof Veena Pandit, Chairperson, J&K Board of School Education, Advocate Ravinder Raina president ASKPC, Rattan Dhar general secretary of the Trust, Prof B L Zutshi, Kuldeep Raina, M K Jalali, Bihari Kak, Avtar K Bhat all trustees, Ramesh Hangloo, Razdan, Pawan Raina, Governing Board members. They pledged to work for the betterment of the Trust and the community as a whole.
