DNWCC’s concern over increasing dengue cases in Ward 65

JAMMU, Oct 2: Durganagar Welfare Coordination Committee (DNWCC) in a meeting here, today held under the presidentship of Sanjay Ganjoo and M K Razdan in which some pressing issues of the area were discussed.
The meeting expressed concern over increasing Dengue cases in Ward 65 and some areas of Durganagar , Roopnagar and Muthi which have been declared as hot spot zones. The meeting demanded immediate fogging in these areas and in this regard the DNWCC has also submitted a memorandum to Commissioner JMC. The meeting expressed the hope that some immediate steps will be taken in this regard.
The meeting also expressed concern over prevailing water crisis in the area and said despite repeated pleas to concerned department no steps were taken to redress the problem with the result people are suffering a lot. The laying of pipes from new OHT to Durganagar was also discussed and a delegation of DNWCC comprising of Sanjay Ganjoo, M K Razdan and Chaman Lal Dhar met the Executive Engineers of PHE Civil and Mechanical and showed their concern over delay in the laying of pipes. The officers informed the delegation that the process was delayed due to elections and it will be done on war footing basis soon.
