SRINAGAR, Dec 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council (JKMC) has found the MBBS degree of a doctor who has registered on Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) portal in Jammu and Kashmir as fake and fabricated.
The Government started the process of verifying the certificates of doctors on the Hospital Professional Registry (HPR) portal of ABDM and have asked the doctors of the Jammu and Kashmir to upload their Degree certificates and other relevant documents on the portal.
So far, around 3500 doctors of the Union Territory have registered on this portal but the certificates of around 250 doctors are yet to be verified as they have uploaded incomplete documents.
The JKMC has found that the MBBS certificate of a doctor Mouzam Ali Hussain, 49, allegedly issued by the University of Kashmir has been found fake.
The JKMC had conducted the preliminary verification of his documents and an official said that he switched off his cell phone after he was asked about his fake degree certificate by the officials of the JKMC.
The Registrar SMC, J&K, in a letter (No. MRC/J/ 2022/ 7069-73 dated 26-11-2022) addressed to Mission Director National Health Mission, Regional Institute Health and Family Welfare, Jammu has said that MBBS degree of a doctor has been found fake.
“This is to inform you that during verification of registration certificates on Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) portal, it was found that some people who are not qualified MBBS doctors have also submitted their applications for verification. One such person namely Mouzam Ali Hussain son of Mohammad Hussain of Inderkote Sumbal Sonawari, District Bandipora has submitted his application on ABDM portal. During scrutiny of his documents like registration certificate and MBBS degree, it was found that these documents are fraudulent, fictious and fabricated and there is no such doctor registered by the J&K Medical Council by the name Mouzam Ali Hussain vide registration No. 00610 dated 24/5/2007 and neither any such application for registration along with MBBS degree from University of Kashmir have been received and processed by this office,” read the letter.
It further stated that strict action may be taken against Mouzam Ali Hussain.
As per the documents available with Excelsior that certificate was allegedly issued by the Controller Examination KU in March 2007. The certificate shows that Mouzam has appeared in final year examination in session Oct-Nov 2005.
The official said that they may refer the case to the Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police as they are the authorities to investigate the matter.
