Docs shortage in Kishtwar hospital

KISHTWAR, May 17: Congress leader and member Kishtwar Civil Society, Shamsher Singh Bhandari called on Minister of Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat here today and apprised him of the problems being faced by the patients in District Hospital Kishtwar due to shortage of doctors and paramedical staff.
The Congress leader informed the Minister that no proper attention has been provided in posting the doctors in the hospital which is functioning with shortage of staff at present adding to the woes of the patients.
He said that the hospital faces shortage of a Dermatologist, ENT Specialist, assistant surgeons and para medical staff.  These are sanctioned posts for the hospital but authorities have failed to post them in the hospital till date. The patients coming from far-flung areas for treatment in the Hospital have to rush to Doda or Jammu due to lack of facilities in Kishtwar DH.
Bhandari while seeking immediate intervention of the Minister demanded that the doctors and para medical staff be posted without further delay.
The Minister assured him that he will look into the issue and immediate steps will be  taken in posting the doctors and para medical staff in DH Kishtwar.
