“Doctor Apke Gaon Mai” initiative reaches remotest Nali Bounjwah of Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Aug 10: With an aim to bring healthcare services directly to the doorsteps of underserved residents in remote villages of District Kishtwar amid vast challenges, the Health Department Kishtwar, in collaboration with the District Administration under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav successfully concluded a free medical camp at PHC Nali ,block Bounjwah as part of the pioneering initiative called “Doctor Apke Gaon Mai.”
The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from the community and untired efforts by the Medical Specialists hailed from District Hospital Kishtwar .
The three-month-long “Doctor Apke Gaon Mai” initiative commenced on July 12, 2023, from Nowapachi Marwah, and today’s Camp culminated with a record-breaking success at PHC Nali Bounjwah where a total of 1500 patients were examined, 300 lab tests were conducted, and 150 Ultrasounds were performed besides free medicines were also distributed among patients under the close supervision of CMO Kishtwar Dr M Y Mir.
The camp also catered to the medical needs of Persons with Disabilities, providing them onspot Disability Certificates for UDID cards.
Recognizing the urgent requirement for accessible healthcare services in far-flung regions, the “Doctor Apke Gaon Mai” initiative has deployed a team of skilled and experienced doctors of District Hospital to remote villages in District Kishtwar. The primary objective of this initiative is to bridge the healthcare gap between urban and rural areas, with a particular emphasis on reaching the most vulnerable populations who face limited access to medical resources.
Through regular visits over the course of three months, “Doctor Apke Gaon Mai” aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services, including general health check-ups, diagnosis of common ailments, and the provision of vital healthcare advice. The healthcare professionals are also prioritizing health education, promoting preventive measures, and raising awareness about prevalent diseases in the region.
The “Doctor Apke Gaon Mai” initiative exemplifies the commitment of the District Administration and Health Department to contribute to the well-being of underserved populations.
