Srinagar, Sept 6: A doctor at Primary Health Centre in village Harmain is alleged to have attempted to molest a local girl, forcing the authorities to order a probe.
As per details, a girl from Aloora area of Shopian had visited the health centre for treatment; however, later she alleged that the doctor on duty attempted to molest her.
After her allegations, the locals of the area have locked the health centre after assembling near the facility. The doctor who is being accused of molestation fled from the spot. The locals also staged a protest and demanded action against the doctor.
Meanwhile, after the commotion, the officials of the Health Department rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation to ascertain facts while ordering a probe into the matter.
Pending inquiry, it has been learned that three staff members including the accused doctor have been put under suspension.
Officials said that the committee has been framed in the matter and it has been tasked to investigate the matter and put the facts in their right place.
