Doctor, brother escape from Q-centre, FIR lodged

MENDHAR, May 15: The Sub Divisional Administration, today lodged an FIR againt a doctor and his brother, after they allegedly escaped from a Quarantine centre at Mendhar.
Official sources said that SDM Mendhar asked police to lodge an FIR against a doctor, Shahrukh Nyaz Khan and his brother, Owais Khan, sons of Mohd Nayaz, residents of Mankote, who fled the administrative quarantine centre, where they were put after travelling back from outside the J&K on Thursday.
Sources said that early Friday morning, the doctor, posted as Medical officer at PHC Mankote and his brother, left the Quarantine centre without permission and came back at around 12:30 p.m., thereby violating the rules in place and the orders of the higher authorities issued from time to time for containment of COVID-19.
The matter was reported to DM Poonch who directed to initiate legal action against them. Accordingly, an FIR No. 96/ 2020 has been registered against the doctor and his brother at Police Station Mendhar, the official said.
