Doctor community demands action against Pb Health Minister

JAMMU, July 30:  Scornful behaviour of Punjab Health Minister, Chetan Singh Jouramajra towards Vice Chancellor Baba Farid University Faridkot, Dr Raj Bahadur was widely condemned by the Doctor community of Jammu and Kashmir and demanded ouster him from the health portfolio, here today.
Various Health Associations of doctors representing medical teachers, peripheral doctors and junior doctors have submitted a memorandum to President of India, Governor of Punjab and Chief Minister of Punjab and demanded his ouster of Punjab Health Minister who has misbehaved with Vice Chancellor Dr Raj Bahadur- an outstanding spine surgeon, medical teacher and medical administrator in the northern India.
In this regard, a meeting was also held at Doctor Association Jammu (DAJ) office, here to express displeasure over the insulting behaviour of the Health Minister of Punjab with the Vice Chancellor.
Dr Balvinder Singh, president DAJ said that the Health Minister of Punjab humiliated Dr Raj Bahadur for his minor discrepancy regarding cleanliness in the hospital and said that this is an attempt to disgrace a man of high repute who has been serving the patients throughout his life and now is preparing team of experts in medical field.
Dr Manjit Singh, Dr Amit and Dr Mukhtyar Khan demanded strict action against the Minister while speaking during the meeting.
“Mal treatment of revered personalities with contempt by the people in Government is becoming a new tool in the hands of politicians and it should be condemned,” they said, adding that if such actions are not condemned or stopped it will be deleterious for the medical fraternity as well as the society.
