Doctor suspended over death of newborn

RAJOURI, June 12: Following death of a newborn, a doctor in Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Nowshera has been placed under suspension.
Chief Medical Officer, Rajouri, Dr Manohar Rana ordered suspension of Dr Baba Singh, Consultant Gynecologist at SDH Nowshera for his alleged negligence in performing the duty.
This action was taken following the directives issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, in response to allegations concerning the death of a newborn. Dr Baba Singh has been instructed to report to the Chief Medical Officer, Rajouri, during the period of suspension.
Besides, CMO Rajouri has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Dr Suresh Kapahi, Consultant Gynae CHC Kalakote having two other members including Dr Neeru and Dr Bilal Bhat to conduct a thorough probe into the death case.
Earlier, locals held strong protest against the doctor for his alleged negligence, which led to death of the newborn. Chief Medical Officer Dr Manohar Rana, and BMO Dr Iqbal Malik assured locals that an enquiry would be held against the doctor and action taken against him.
