RAJOURI, June 30: While the medical staff of district hospital Rajouri has given ultimatum to the police to take action against the persons who allegedly misbehaved with a doctor, district president of the BJP for Rajouri, Yogesh Sharma, has alleged that doctors were not working properly in hospital and mostly running their own clinics just for minting money in the town.
Addressing a joint press conference here today, the senior BJP leader Mr Yogesh and Beopar Mandal, Rajouri president Vijay Gupta alleged that doctors and some staff members are not working properly and majority of them run their clinics even during the duty hours. They remain absent from hospital and can be seen in their private clinics and labs. There was no check at all and public is the worst suffer. Many times, they had to face public wrath but they did not try to mend their ways.
They further alleged that even many doctors are managing posting there for the last over 10 to 15 years and they have created a nexus. Referring to incident, they said two days back the dead body of an SPO Ashok Kumar was taken to district hospital Rajouri for post-mortem. The doctor on duty Dr Raj Kumar refused to do the job. It led to some exchange of words. But no incident manhandling or misbehave with the medico took place. They alleged that doctors just to save their own skin, went on strike on Friday and suspended work for about three hours causing hardships to the needy patients. This attitude of the people in this noble profession will no more be tolerated by general public. They urged the Health Minister to intervene and shift entire over-staying staff and hold independent inquiry into the matter besides keeping a strict check on the functioning of Medical staff at Rajouri hospital.
Meanwhile, hospital staff has warned that they will resume strike if the police failed to take action against the accused persons before Monday.
